Meals are provided under the supervision of our certified Dietary Manager. Along with a consulting registered dietician, diets are developed to meet residents’ medical needs as well as food preferences. Our meals are served with pride and geared toward resident satisfaction and pleasure. Nutritional snacks are also provided several times during the day to promote a healthy diet.

Periwinkle Park – Dementia Services
Our comprehensive, dementia services focus on the total needs of each resident while emphasizing dignity, self-esteem, compassion, and security. Our secured wing, Periwinkle Park, specializes in areas that can more effectively meet the needs of residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia related illnesses. In this 16-bed unit, RDCC provides special care staff to assist with specialized activities along with 24-hour nurse and nurse aide monitoring. The environment of the wing presents a soothing atmosphere while reducing isolation caused by the disease. Cleanliness, safety and simple décor promote orientation and independence.
We are proud of the healthcare we provide while realizing that there is much more to life than medicine and therapy. We understand the important roles that a warm, supportive environment and the availability of social and recreational activities can play in a resident’s life. With a certified activity director, as well as our volunteer auxiliary, we strive to provide our residents with activities, programs and projects that enhance their quality of life – helping to energize and add enrichment to their day. Such programs include a variety of exercise activities, sensory stimulation, trivia and word games, discussion groups, volunteer and visitor oriented events, parties, singing and arts and crafts. Religious activities are offered as well. While striving to make personal connections with each individual, we help residents develop friendships that enhance their quality of life.
Our team constantly monitors and modifies the plan of care, as appropriate for the patients’ ever changing medical needs. Effective communication between our nurses and residents’ physicians is a primary goal at RDCC. We encourage residents to maintain continued medical visits with their admitting and specialized physicians. As part of our dedication to that purpose, our full-time drivers provide transportation to and from all medical appointments at no additional charge with staff remaining with residents while at their appointments.
Our in-house salon allows for residents to escape their day-to-day routine and relax while getting their hair cut, permed or styled. We all know that when we look good, we feel good and that stands true for our residents. The smile on their faces after their appointment says it all. Our beautician is on-site once weekly for appointments.
